
Manufacturing Engineering Manager
JOB TITLE: Engineering Manager

Technical authority for the company both internally and externally as it relates to precision manufactured machined components utilizing CNC machining and grinding equipment
Manage and supervise department engineering technical staff, focusing on developing value added operational excellence and eliminating manufacturing losses
Accountable for the “on time” new part quotation process and meeting production launch deadlines
Design initial part processing, launching first part production to schedule; validate planned manufacturing process performance with time and motion studies to quote standards
Plan operatorial foot print, part flow and equipment layout for maximum operational effectivity
Lead new capital projects including specifying, justifying, purchasing, installing, and training
Manage automation integration (robotics) including oversight and direction for installations, maintenance, programming and troubleshooting operational failures
Support overall equipment uptime by coordinating external repair services in conjunction with maintenance department
Maintain system of documented engineering change requests for manufacturing processes and customer products
Accountable for overall performance and cost of perishable/ durable tooling

Ten years’ experience in an engineering leadership role
Minimum BS in related engineering field
Knowledge of steel properties & heat treat processing
Prior experience in new product launch and project timeline management
Proven and documented record of process improvements in scrap reduction and net yield increase
Strong working knowledge of machining/grinding tooling selection and quality inspection methodology
Competent in administrative functions supporting engineering services to manage time phased projects
Strong analytical, numerical, and critical analysis for problem solving and corrective action
Well-developed management skills including:
Critical thinking to develop effective solutions
Showing proficiency in area of expertise; willing to share knowledge with team members
Set objectives and meet documented goals in a timely manner

Accountable for the hiring, managing and retention of subordinate department team members.
