Shifts: Night Shift (4-10 hour shifts, Monday-Thursday)

  • The Supervisor will be responsible for managing the 2nd Shift direct labor and production activities to include meeting production goals, quality standards, safety objectives and cost controls. Additionally, the supervisor creates and maintains procedural documents and reports relative to production scheduling and performance. Person is responsible for making sure the production equipment is maintained to eliminate down time.

  • The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role.

    • Supervise direct labor and production operations for Laser Turrets, Press Brake, Welding, Grinding including prioritizing production schedules, delegating work assignments, to ensure work force optimization and minimal machine down time.

    • Lead, motivate and direct employees using performance measurables, provide recognition and feedback, training and take corrective action if necessary.

    • Read and interpret documents such as production operating instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.

    • Create and manage production reports and other documentation.

    • Create and implement standard processes and procedures through the 2nd Shift team.

    • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and empower the 2nd Shift team in these efforts.

    • Manage communication with 1st and weekend shift managers to ensure production priorities and performance information is exchanged.

    • Highschool Diploma or GED, or the equivalent amount of training and hands-on experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.

    • 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment plus at least 5 years leading, mentoring, and developing direct reports

    • Ability to understand how to set up and operate laser turrets, press brake, welding and grinding is preferred.

    • Demonstrated ability for inspection, and blueprint reading is required.

    • Experience with a press brake and the ability to train employees on the press brake would be preferred, but not required.

    • Keen attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities and people simultaneously.

    • Availability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays to ensure production needs are met.

  • Incumbents in this role will primarily perform their work in a production warehouse environment and interact with team members throughout the facility in both office and production warehouse environments.

    The production warehouse will work with and around a variety of industrial warehouse equipment and vehicles, such as forklifts and robotic arms, in an environment that includes exposure to loud noise levels, vibration, chemicals, dust, fumes, mechanical hazards, bright lights and hot or cold temperatures. While performing the duties of this position, incumbents are required to do all of some of the following, with or without accommodation:

    • Attend to machinery (workstation) for long periods, up to an entire shift, managing the controls of the equipment in a safe and effective manner.

    • Use computer keyboard, mobile device, desk top computer, laptop, calculator, telephone, walkie talkie, copy machine and other production warehouse tools or controls.

    • Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgement.

    • Review documents, monitors or displays with potentially small print.

    • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hard hats, masks, gloves or other PPE required to operate equipment safely and effectively.

    • Move through the production warehouse facility on potentially uneven or slippery surface.

    • Respond to safety control noises or alarms such as fire alarm, forklifts horns, and machinery alerts.

    • Reach under, over, above or around machinery or other objects such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work.

    • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.

    The typical workdays and hours for the organization vary depending on the role being performed with potential for extended hours, including weekends or holidays based on business needs.

    This role will typically be expected to perform work Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 PM onsite at the Plymouth facility.
