R&B Grinding is currently seeking a Metrology/ Gage Lab Technician for 1st shift.

  • The Metrology/ Calibration Lab Technician maintains the accountabilities for control of company-owned tools and gages in order to provide a timely supply of calibrated measuring equipment to various departments, work groups, and other facilities.

    • Identify and distribute gages as needed to machinE operators on the shop floor

    • Set up pre-production gage job kits to daily production schedules

    • Perform adjustments and calibration to nationally and/or internationally recognized standards.

    • Perform in house calibration of gages

    • contract outside third-party calibration services as needed

    • Maintains gage and calibration database for gage tracking

    • Write CMM programs for new & legacy parts and maintain program files

    • Maintain good interaction with all employees in various departments

    • Temporarily fill in for Quality Auditor and Quality Inspector as requested

    • Assist Quality Engineer with Gage R&R and capability studies

    • Assist with internal ISO audits as the resident expert for gage metrology

    • This position requires exceptional communication and interactive skills

    • Minimum of 3 years of Quality Inspection or machining experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

    • Ability to write and read CMM programs is first priority for candidate selection

    • Proficient with profilometer, optical comparator, cylindricity measuring machine and CMM.

    • Must be able to read a blue print and GDT interpretation

    • Possess good problem-solving skills and ability to read required gages and tools.

    • Availability for overtime hours as needed.
