  • R&B Grinding is currently seeking an autonomous Quality Engineer.

    R & B Grinding LLC is an ISO 9001:2015 Certified, providing OEM manufacturers with a diversity of services including close tolerance precision CNC machining, grinding, welding, screw machining, and assembly work.

  • This position supports improving quality processes associated with manufacturing and measurement with the goal of reducing internal and external defects. This position requires excellent skills in communication and problem-solving.

    Primary Responsibilities include:

    • Develop PPAP documents and communicate with customer regarding Control Plan's, ISIR's, Raw Material/Outside Process certifications, PFMEA's, flow charts and process change requests.

    • Update Control Plans, internal work instructions and other documents as needed

    • Promptly quote and order gages for new and production parts

    • Collect and verify certifications from vendors (steel, heat treat, plating…)

    • Primary Customer Contact for rejected or suspect parts/product/material

    • Perform Gage R&R and capability studies when required

    • Coordinate and develop appropriate training materials in areas related to quality

    • Maintain and track internal Material Discrepancy Reports; attend and coordinate resulting actions from Material Review Board

    • Disposition questionable parts accordingly

    • Analyze data and create action plans to reduce scrap costs

    • Coordinate internal Quality Alerts issuance

    • Charter 8D analysis processes following internal or external Corrective Action Requests

    • Back up for the Quality Manager; fill in periodically for other positions in the Quality Control department as needed

    • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; make recommendations to Quality Manager, including regular Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting

    • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system to support ISO certification

    • Establish and maintain Outside Supplier relationships to develop Key Supplier Development Program

    • Monitor Outside Supplier quality metrics and develop quarterly reporting to Supplier performances

    • A minimum of 3 years of Quality or Engineering experience in a machine shop leadership position is preferred

    • BS in Engineering or related field preferred

    • Familiar with gages: dial calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, dial bore gages, and full operations on CMM. Programming CMM experience first consideration for the position

    • Must be familiar with the ISO 9001 standards

    • Must be able to read blue print and comprehend customer specifications.

    • Must have good communication, computer, problem solving and organizational skills.

    • Communicate with customers on quality issues, corrective and preventative actions.

    • Interact with department supervisors on quality issues.

    • Availability for overtime hours as needed.
