  • The Supply Chain Buyer and Analyst is responsible for creating the purchasing strategy and managing inventory control for all purchased & manufactured parts in a timely and efficient manner.

  • The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that are not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role.

    • Lead special projects for Procurement team as requested.

    • Collaborate to analyze plan and implement continuous improvement projects including cost reduction driving organizational transformation. going beyond the 4 walls to engage with suppliers, customers, and other partners.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers: solicit bids, analyze quotes, interview prospective suppliers, and select suppliers.

    • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods and services, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts and make proactive recommendations when necessary.

    • Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams.

    • Negotiate raw material & purchased parts to manage vendor price, cost effectiveness, and quality & quantity expectations.

    • Manage inventory levels for purchased parts and recommend stocking programs in support of overall business strategies.

    • Proactively collaborates with internal teams such as Sales, Engineering, Shipping/Receiving to ensure timely and effective delivery of goods and services.

    • Works to simplify indirect purchasing function through VMI’s or inventory processes that minimizes the organization resources, cost, and risk.

    • Drive total cost improvements to the entire supply chain,

    • Develop and drive the use of common tools and processes consistent with future needs.

    • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a relevant field, or the equivalent amount of training and hands-on experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.

    • 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, materials management, or other related role in a manufacturing environment

    • Knowledge of Aerospace/DoD industry a plus

    • Proven track record of implementing and executing continuous improvement projects and leading organizational transformation.

    • Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically to contribute toward organizational planning.

    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders

    • Creative, and results oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with others to identify and solve issues, make proactive recommendations, and lead through influence.

    • Self-directed work style, able to work autonomously, prioritize and deliver results.

    • Ability to travel to multiple sites throughout the Twin Cities and Racine Wi. as necessary

    • Have a good understanding of ERP systems, Manufacturing and Supply Chain management.

    • Knowledge of Infor Visual ERP system preferred.

  • Incumbents in this role will primarily perform their work in an office environment and will interact with team members throughout the facility in both office and production warehouse environments.

    The office environment includes exposure to moderate noise levels typically associated with an indoor office facility. While performing the duties of this position, incumbents are required to do all or some of the following, with or without accommodation:

    • Stand or sit at their desk or workstation for long periods, up to an entire shift

    • Effectively use computer keyboard, mobile device, desk top computer, laptop, calculator, telephone, copy machine and other business tools or controls

    • Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgement

    • Review documents, monitors, or displays with potentially small print

    • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hard hats, masks, gloves, or other PPE as required

    • Move through the office and production warehouse facility on potentially uneven or slippery surface

    • Respond to safety control noises or alarms such as fire alarm, forklifts horns, and machinery alerts

    • Reach under, over, above or around machinery or other objects such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work

    • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 10 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment

    The typical workdays and hours for the organization vary depending on the role being performed with potential for extended hours, including weekends or holidays based on business needs.

    This role will typically be expected to perform work Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm onsite at the Shakopee, Minnesota facility.

    This role is classified as full-time exempt (salaried) and work is expected to be delivered within established deadlines and quality standards without regard to the typical working days or hours noted above.
